Message from the Chairman
Hannah Joseph Hospital was first established as a center of excellence for Neurosurgery, Neurology, Psychiatry and Trauma care in 2008. In the year 2011, it was incorporated into a private limited company. It has been consistently registering phenomenal growth in terms of complicated surgeries, patient volume and turnover making the hospital a landmark for Neurosciences in the city of Madurai & south Tamilnadu. The addition of the Department of Neuroradiology has also fulfilled our dreams of having a full-fledged Neurological Institute of International standard in this part of the country. Since we had to establish an infrastructure to meet the demands of increasing patient volume, we have moved into a 150 bedded state-of-the-art new hospital campus in the year 2020. We have added the department of Cardiac Sciences with a Cath lab and Cardiac Operation Theatres. We now perform Complex Coronary Angioplasties and Open Heart Surgeries.

- In July 2008, soon after inauguration of this hospital, Dr M J Arunkumar performed a complex Multi-level cervical Spine Surgery.
- In January 2009, a Transfacial Surgery to remove a Skull Based Tumour was performed for the first time in South Tamilnadu along with Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Colleagues.
- In July 2009, Dr introduced the concept of Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery in the field of Brain and Spine Surgeries in this part of Tamilnadu using advanced gadgets procured including anaesthesia workstation (Drager, Germany) and completed 140 surgeries in a year with a success rate of 98.49%
- In July 2009, Dr performed the first Paediatric Brain Aneurysm clipping on a 12 year school girl who fainted in the school due toa sudden Rupture and Hemorrhage within the brain. This is another achievement for the first time in the Central and Southern Districts of Tamilnadu.
- Considering the growth of the hospital activities, it was decided to continue the functions in a much broader platform under corporate entity.

- In 2012 Hannah Introduced Intracranial Pressure Monitoring Device
- In 2014, Intra Operative Neuro Monitoring was introduced
- In 2016 a complex high risk surgery was performed with global fusion done at the brain spine junction on a young boy in 2 phases
- In 2017 Brain Lab Navigation was introduced
- In 2018, a brain tumour was removed using local anaesthesia and brain mapping with the patient fully conscious
- In 2020, the Hospital was shifted to its New Campus spread over an of 2 Acres with 150 Bed
- In 2021, the Neuroendovascular Intervention for a Brain Aneurysm using ‘Silk Vista’ was performed for the first time in South India
- In November 2021, the Company gets its Shares admitted in Electronic (Demat) Mode thro’ CDSIL
- In February 2022, Hannah successfully performed the ‘Sapien 3’ Trans-Catheter Heart Valve Implantation using Edwards Delivery System
- In June 2022, a rare and complex Giant tumour was successfully removed from the CV junction (Brain/Spine junction) in a pediatric patient
- To expand and to broad base the facilities, the Company was converted into a Public Limited Company during July 2022
- In September 2022, the Interventional Neuroradiology team launched the advanced Intrasaccular Web Device (ISD) for the first time in South Tamilnadu for the Endovascular treatment of Aneurysm patient
